STUDENT & GUEST INFO:

CORNUCOPIA DAYS PARADE - SUNDAY, JULY 13, 2008

NOTE: The class routine "Shakira's Envy" has NOTHING to do with the parade! We will learn a short easy DIFFERENT routine on the day of the parade!

Parade route is about 6 blocks long. Not a hardship! <grin>

The studio will be locked from 1:30 until Saqra or her husband make it back to the studio after the parade (best guess 3:30 or 4) -- you may leave your belongings there. There is only one toilet at the studio so please plan accordingly.

LOCATION/TIMES -- WE MEET AT SAQRA'S STUDIO

If you need costuming you must be at the studio no later than 11:45.

If you have your own costuming you must be at the studio no later than 12:15

WHAT TO WEAR

If you are a dancer wearing your own fancy costuming, please be conservative as this is a family daytime event (you can always tuck a veil in to cloak a bit). You will get a chance to get an opinion on your costuming at the practices on July 9 and 10 if you are attending those. Otherwise e will have tons of extra costuming handy if we think y'all need to supplement or if it turns out your costume goes sheer in the sun. Alahad Shamals do NOT have to wear their Alahad colors for the parade!

If you do not have costuming just show up on Sun at the time listed above and wear a swim suit or leotard (you will NOT be going out in public in this, but we need it to provide a foundation over which to dress you!) with any costuming items you do have (broomstick skirts and other full longish skirts are handy to costume over) plus all your jewelry and any other sparkly things. If you are a guy with no costuming please wear shorts or swim trunks (that do not dangle off your butt) or black pants... we are shooting for a masculine Aladdin (borderline pirate without the eyepatch) look... and I would recommend guys try to be a little early because we run out of long pants quickly.

Do wear sunscreen and shoes... we are walking on hot asphalt.

WHO IS WELCOME

Anyone willing to wear a costume and smile a lot! All ages, but they must be under parental control if they are kids... we really are mostly teens through adults. You do NOT have to be a dancer or a student at Saqra's studio to participate. Men and boys are also welcome... we could use extra musicians (drums and tambourines), men to carry the front banner, perhaps a sword if you are trustable (<grin> these are Saqra's own swords being used). You MUST be in appropriate costume to participate.
