SUNDAY 9:30-11 - SIDONIA OM DUNIA - ANDALUSIAN and TURKISH SKIRT DANCING - $35
Warm-up & movement
meditation for cool down included in class structure. A brief overview of finger cymbal patterns
may be incorporated into the Rhythm discussion. No Zill experience is necessary. We will learn how to listenand internalize the sound of our heartbeat. Connect with the earth and feel her
pulse. Work on breath, balance, attitude
and sensuality. Feel the power and
experience ancient wisdom of the feminine.
Sidonia has lived and traveled throughout the United States, Philippines, Hong Kong, Germany, Great Britain, Canada and Greece. In addition to her degrees in Education and History, she is a certified aerobic instructor. Sidonia continues to study ethnic origins of movement and has had the opportunity to study with many icons of the mid-eastern dance world. Some of the major influences in her dance career are Nagwa Fouad, Mahmoud Reda, Samia Gamal, Sohair Zaki, Amaya, Aziz, Bert Balladine, Fatima Al Wahid, Hadia, Kathryn Ferguson, Jamilla Salimpour, MaShuqa Mira Mujan, Morocco, Mezdulene, Nabeela el Shalimar, Saqra, Gaylene Dover and Sidonia's mother Althea.
